华盛顿州立大学吴狄教授来访我院并做专题报告

2月22日,应ag亚集团官方网站魏进家教授和前沿ag网站亚游登录瞿永泉教授邀请,华盛顿州立大学吴狄教授到访ag亚集团官方网站,为师生做了题为“Probing the Energetics of Molecule – Material Interactions at Interfaces and in Nanopores ”的学术报告。ag亚集团官方网站部分教师和研究生参加了本次报告。

首先,魏进家院长为ag网站亚游登录师生先容了吴狄教授。接着,吴狄教授为师生们带来了生动而精彩的报告。报告以二氧化碳的吸附、转化利用为大背景,通过二氧化碳在材料表面的吸附热的测量,深入研究其在不同位点的吸附方式,形态以及吸附过程热力学参数的变化,揭示了MOF催化剂在低压条件下,二氧化碳选择性吸附的原因。同时,先容了二氧化碳形成碳酸盐后,其表面对不同小分子(以水和二氧化碳为例)的吸附方式,以及影响因素。最后,通过小分子在不同孔道结构中表现出的不同热力学性能,探究它们之间的限域效应。吴迪教授通过基础的热力学测量,为化工领域中的催化过程、传递过程提供了理论支撑。

此次报告会,开阔了师生的国际化视野,增长了常识,同时促进了我院化工学科的国际化建设,有助于加深我院与美国华盛顿州立大学的密切合作,助推学校的双一流学科建设。

报告人概况:

Di Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical

Engineering and Bioengineering at Washington State University (WSU). He is the founding

Director of the Alexandra Navrotsky Institute for Experimental Thermodynamics

(AlexInstitute) and an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, Materials

Science & Engineering Program and the Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology at WSU.

He earned his B.S. from Zhejiang University, China in 2006, M.S. from the University of

Akron in 2008, and Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis under the guidance of

Alexandra Navrotsky in 2012, all in Chemical Engineering. He was also a postdoctoral fellow

under Prof. Navrotsky at the Peter A. Rock Thermochemistry Laboratory and NEAT ORU at

the University of California, Davis from 2013 to 2016. His research interests include physics

and chemistry of material surfaces, catalysis, porous material synthesis, thermodynamics,

calorimetry, nanogeoscience and nanotechnology.
